Why convert WebP to JPG?

WebP works well on websites, but support is still inconsistent once an image leaves the browser. A WebP file may not open, insert or upload properly in Word, PowerPoint, older Photoshop versions, email clients, printers and application portals. JPG is the universal fallback: almost every device, app and website accepts it.

When JPG is the right choice

Transparency: read this first

JPG cannot store transparent pixels. If a WebP image has a transparent background, this converter places those areas on a white background before saving the JPG. The result is flattened onto white. If the transparency is part of a logo, sticker or product image, use our WebP to PNG converter instead.

Quality and file size

JPG uses lossy compression. The High setting is the right default for most photos because it keeps the image visually close to the original. WebP often compresses more efficiently than JPG, so a converted JPG can sometimes be larger than the source, especially at High quality. The main benefit of JPG is compatibility. If the finished file is too large for a form, run it through our Image Compressor.

FAQ

How do I convert a WebP file to JPG?

Drop your WebP files on this page, keep the output format on JPG, choose a quality level, and download each file or use Download all. Conversion happens in your browser, so files are never uploaded.

Why will my WebP image not open or insert properly in Word, PowerPoint or older Photoshop?

WebP support is still inconsistent outside web browsers. JPG is the universal image format, so converting to JPG is the reliable fix for documents, presentations, older editors, email and upload portals.

What happens to transparency when I convert WebP to JPG?

JPG cannot store transparency. This converter places transparent areas on a white background before creating the JPG, so the finished image is flattened onto white. Use WebP to PNG if you need transparency to stay transparent.

Will converting WebP to JPG lose quality?

JPG uses lossy compression, so a small amount of quality can be lost. Choose High quality for a result that is visually very close to the original. If exact pixels and transparency matter, choose PNG instead.

Can I convert several WebP files at once?

Yes. Add or drop a batch of files, convert them together, then download each JPG separately or use Download all.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser via JavaScript. Your files never touch a server.
